The web widget can now be controlled from your own website, so you can start calls and chats from your own buttons and design, instead of using only the built-in launcher.
Trigger the widget from your own buttons. Start or stop a voice call, open a chat, and send messages from any button or element on your site. The widget also reports back when a call connects, ends, a chat message arrives, or something goes wrong, so your page can react (for example, show your own "call in progress" state).
Headless mode. Hide the default launcher completely and build your own interface around the widget. The widget runs quietly in the background and powers the conversation, while your site controls how everything looks. Headless mode is available on the Pro plan and above.

Works across providers. The same controls behave consistently whether the widget is powered by Vapi, Retell, or ElevenLabs.
This is aimed at teams who want a custom on-site experience. Setup involves a small amount of website code, so it's best handled by whoever manages your website.
